Nice article and interesting read. I don’t mind the low block and playing on the counter in certain circumstances Vrs City etc, 3 up with 10 mins (not 60)to go. Would have been nice to have actually counter attacked as well. I fear that is going to cost us, as will the VAR decisions earlier in the season (Newcastle, spammers fir which rules have now been changed). He has played right with Bale, I don’t think he was ready to start but he has the ‘power’ back in his play now.

Thanks, Sam! My problem with the low block/counter attack strategy is that it relies on such thin margins. I'd rather see the team fighting for more possession and control of the match (like we did with Crystal Palace). And I purposefully did not include the Newcastle game in that list of results because it was ~such~ an unfair outcome. If we do have to look back on that one with regret, our anger should be directed at the refs more than our own players. But I will add that I am perfectly happy for Newcastle to go down instead of Fulham... I'm inclined to agree with regards to Bale, since he didn't seem quite fit when he had his appearances earlier in the season. I'm sure Wales is happy he's coming into form now rather than earlier.
